• Question: When do you think the new tech might be ready for the public to use on a daily basis?

      Hi Mia,

      Thanks for your question. I expect it will be 2-3 years from now but we are close.
      I guess there is alot of uncertainty with many new technologies at the moment due to COVID-19, but many scientists and engineers are working hard to make it a reality.

    What kind of tech do you have in mind? 🙂

    In the consumer electronics sector, new technology is coming to the general public all the time. For example, in order to have the ability to drive themselves, Tesla cars now have fancy radar and lidar sensors. Computer chips are getting faster, smaller, and cooler every year, so this year’s smartphones are many times faster and more capable than one from 5 years ago.

    There is loads of new technology being developed right now. My machine is working on all kinds of bendy things that could be sewn into your clothes or pasted all over your house. Things like bendy solar panels, batteries and screens! You’re starting to see these in (very expensive) folding phones coming out now, but soon flexible materials will be everywhere. Imagine having a roll-up computer you can put in your pocket and unroll like a scroll: very exciting!
