      This is more of a philosophical question, although you could ask a neuroscientist and see what they say.

      Some people believe consciousness is an emergent property of the brain. This would mean there is nothing mystical about consciousness, and it could potentially one day be explained by science alone. Descartes believed consciousness was separate from the physical world, and that the interaction between the realm of thought and the realm of material things happened in the brain. This is called dualism. There are many other philosophical arguments though!

      If you are very interested in consciousness, you could look for videos or books on philosophy of the mind. If you are more interested in a scientific approach to consciousness, it might be better to look for videos or books on the brain. I hope this helps with your question.
