      Hi Oliver,

      That is a good question and I have to think hard about it. I am not sure there is one particular person or thing that inspired me – I have primarily continued to do science because I enjoyed it and could work with a lot of nice people.

      However, it has been important to have inspiring role models, people who have encouraged me and advised me along the way. There is not just person, but a few that I have been lucky to interact with. Now that I am a bit older, I am trying to help younger scientists in the same way, and support and advise them in their careers.

      Would you be able to say who or what is inspiring you at the moment?
