Sometimes! I take breaks often to stretch my legs 🙂 I really enjoy my research and I feel lucky to get to do this as a job so I don’t really mind it.
we, at the UKATC/Royal Observatory Edinburgh take tis pretty carefully. We assess our workstations for proper lighting and posture and adjustable chairs so we can get comfy. We also recommend breaks at least every 2hrs. These can be coffee breaks, trips to the library, a walk to another office for a chat (rather than e-mailing somebody the next building which is daft) or a quick trip to the roof to take in the views. Sometimes you are stuck with a screen much of the day (especially right now with all the travel restrictions) but it is still important to take breaks. A bad back from too much computer use is just as much an industrial accident as falling off a building site.

Yep, that’s why you should take regular breaks! I stop at least once every couple of hours to go and get more coffee, or just walk around the house.
