This is a very good question! Google recently announced that their quantum computer solved a problem 100 million times faster than a regular computer. This is very impressive but caution needs to be had by understanding the real uses for quantum computers. They are being designed primarily for solving certain scientific problems. There are some problems which a regular computer can do faster than a quantum computer as a regular computer is designed to be able to do nearly everything at a decent speed whereas quantum computers are very specialised pieces of technology designed for doing certain problems very, very quickly; millions of times faster than a regular computer!
At the moment, and only in theory, quantum computers are faster than traditional computers only in certain tasks. For example, a quantum computer can crack your password many many times faster than a traditional computer. However for day-to-day tasks like checking email, there probably won’t be much difference.
