• Question: How many galaxies have you discovered ?

      I’m afraid I only design the instruments that other people use to find galaxies, so none.

      Some weeks I get to discover a few thousands, so probably close to a few hundred thousand. Some of them are so bright or so unique that we give them nicknames, like COSMOS Redshift 7 (CR7), or VR7.

    I haven’t discovered any galaxies but there are lots. Think of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field Image. That image is of an area in space that is the size of a pinhead held at arms length. In the image there are 10,000 galaxies. Just imagine how many areas of pinheads there can be!
