If you think about astrology, its basically telling someone that the position that the stars were in when they were born dictate their personality and future. I don’t believe that, I think how you grow up, your surroundings and experiences (and maybe your genes) are what your personality is based on, and your future is based on decisions you make and opportunities you have.
I think if stars signs were real people would make sure to have babies with ‘good’ signs or that there would be a lot of evidence to go with it. I think its a fun hobby for people are interested in things like that though!.
There is no scientific evidence for any effects of astrology. Hundreds of years ago it might have made sense to see patterns in the night sky and try and equate them to happenings here on earth. However we now understand how distant the stars are, and how predictable the motions of the planets are. Therefore there are really no ways for them to influence us. Likewise we would see patterns in people with similar birth dates if it was true. So I have no belief in star signs and that their predictions are so general they can apply to anyone.
To add to the above, astrology is a pseudo-science – meaning, it has enough of scientific terminology in it to sound legit, but it’s false.
Science is not a system of beliefs, it is supported by evidence – facts, accumulated through experiments. If a scientific hypothesis – an idea that is – is not supported by evidence, it is discarded.
