I live in Cambridge and enjoy cycling to work every day. I love to read and travel, and go visit my family in Italy at least once or twice a year.

My Typical Day:
I cycle for 15 minutes to get to work, and enter the Museum when the public are not yet allowed in. I switch on my scientific equipment and spend my day in the lab with some ancient painting, manuscript, or sculpture. It takes me a long time to write up all the things that the scientific analysis allows me to discover! I often have to read other people’s work to help me understand what my own results mean. I also spend quite a lot of time talking to children, teachers and other scientists about my job.
