A long-time resident of the Peak District, I am fortunate to both live, work and play in this beautiful part of the UK. I am a musician, formerly a classically trained pianist and since 2003 singing with my girls in Heartbeat UK. I still have my recorder from primary school, and can still crack out a tune on that too (much to my wife’s dismay!).
-
My Typical Day:
I don’t do mornings so get up as late as possible and head into the laboratory. I might spend the day in the anechoic chamber or taking vibration measurements on power tools. If I’m lucky, both!

Middle C, E-flat, and G walk into a bar. “Sorry,” the bartender says to the E-flat, “we don’t serve minors here.”
